This happened because six barge ships that transporting bulk cement’s tank floated because it was separated from a tugboat, Thursday (March 24th, 2016).
Six barge ships allegedly empety and was pulled by a tugboat from Boombaru to Baturaja Cement Factory at Kertapati. After passing below the Ampera Bridge, suddenly, four barge ships was detached from another barge ships.
Knowing that the rope was broken, the ship was going reverse in order to capture the barge ships. However, due to the heave flow from the river, making the ship’s speed increased and getting closer to the Ampera Bridge.
Though the ships had crashed into the bottom of the Ampera Bridge, the owner of the ships managed to tie the ships back together and started to pull it off. (Sadam Husen)
