Dubai Port Will Monitor Tanjung Api Api

SRIPOKU.COM, PALEMBANG -- In March 14th, 2016, the government of South Sumatera Province will receive a visit from a team of Dubai Port World, in order to establish a cooperation for “Investasi Pembangunan Pelabuhan Laut Dalam Tanjung Carat dan Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus Tanjung Api-api.”

It is stated by the chief of Licensing Promotion Agency and the Regional Investment (Badan Promosi dan Perizinan Penanaman Modal Daerah/BP3MD) of South Sumatera, Ruslan Bahri, after a meeting in the room of Setda Pemprov Sumsel, Friday, March 11th, 2016.

Ruslan said that the visit from the Dubai Port team is on the basis of encouragement from President Joko Widodo, so that Dubai would come to invest in Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK/Special Economic Zones) of Tanjung Api-api.

“President’s encouragement was so strong for this. We were organizing a meeting to prepare for it. In that visit, one team from South Sumatera will be presented from BUMN, from the region, the 2nd assistant of Pemprov and all that is related, including me,” said Ruslan.

Ruslan added that Dubai would invest in two things, which is in the port system and the KEK TAA. When asked how much that Dubai Would invest, Ruslan claimed that he didn’t know.

“The number is not out yet, they will survey it first. Just like when we want to build a street, after the survey is finished, we can know it. So as the investation for the port, because it’s fluctuating,” Ruslan added.

Ruslan explained that at his moment, those who were already invested in a big scale for KEK was Dubai Port and Pelindo.

“The port is so big, there is a container area, a fertilizer port, there are so many,” Ruslan said.

“Dubai Port will adjust their function here, by surveying the location. In here, we willl try to make the port to release our raw materials to support KEK.” (Sadam Husen)
