There are some characteristics of narrative text, including orientation, complication, evaluation, resolution, and coda. Narrative text uses two main language features: action verbs and past tenses. Action verbs express material processes that describe what happens. Past tenses are verbs used for past activities or past states of being.

Teks naratif adalah jenis teks yang menceritakan suatu kisah atau menjelaskan urutan peristiwa. Tujuan dari teks ini adalah untuk menghibur atau memberikan informasi kepada pembaca. Ada beberapa ciri-ciri teks naratif, antara lain: orientasi, komplikasi, evaluasi, resolusi, dan koda.
