Palembang - South Korea Explores Cooperation in Drainage Improvements
In their presentation, the representative from South Korea explained that the drainage system in Palembang is poor.
SRIPOKU.COM, PALEMBANG - The government of South Korea will help solve the problems of poor drainage system in Palembang.
Their assistance will come in the form of grants form of labor and funds, in order to improve Palembang’s drainage system.
South Korea’s party has submitted an improvement drafts for the drainage system in Palembang to the government of Palembang and the Ministry of Public Works, at Grand Zuri Hotel, (April 15th, 2016).
In their presentation, the representative from South Korea explained that the drainage system in Palembang is poor.
So when there is a lot of rain, lots of puddles can be found in some parts in Palembang.
South Korea offers a retention pond construction and the procurement of pumps. But, before the repair is done, through Public Works Service, the government of Palembang will requested improvements to the master plan offered.
Chief of Public Works Service and PSDA of Palembang, Bastari, said that pump is the last option in drainage improvements.
He also added that they asked the representative South Korea to widen and dredge the drainage system, so the drainage system can be optimally functioned again. (Sadam Husen)
