Palembang’s LRT Will Use Electric Trains

SRIPOKU.COM - The Governor of South Sumatera, Ir. H. Alex Noerdin stated that the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, has approved the using of electric trains for South Sumatera’s Light Rail Transit (LRT).

It had been decided on the closed meeting for accelerated development of LRT, at Presiden Sekretariat Kabinet RI office, Tuesay (March 29th, 2016).

Alex also added that even though the development of LRT looks normal, but this will be a great achievement for a region outside Java.

“The approval of this matter is thanks to the support from another ministers. This modernized LRT will be the first in Indonesia,” Alex said during Paripurna Meeting XV DPRD South Sumatera Province, at Paripurna Meeting Chamber, Thursday (March31st, 2016). (Sadam Husen)
