Alex Noerdin: No More Forest Fire!

SRIPOKU.COM, PALEMBANG - The Governor of South Sumatera, Ir. H. Alex Noerdin, stated that there should be no more forest fire in his province and in other regions in Indonesia, during this year and in the coming years.

In October, November, and December last year, Alex said, South Sumatera have done its best to extinguish the fire.

“Even another country never seen a fire this big,” Alex said, during his speech in the industrial area of PT. OKI Pulp and Paper, Ogan Komering Ilir, South Sumatera, Thursday (March 24th, 2016).

He also expressed his gratitude to all the people of South Sumatera, for all their hardwork to stop the forest fire.

Furthermore, Alex also revealed two important things that needed to be controlled regarding the prevention and countermeasures of forest fire.

First is early detection, followed by the execution of a trained ground team, who had a high motivation, equipment and great experience. (Sadam Husen)
