SRIPOKU.COM, PALEMBANG - A member of Komisi X DPR-RI, and also a former tennis athlete, Yayuk Basuki, assess that Palembang, South Sumatera is well prepared in the infrastructure matter for the 2018 Asian Games, than Jakarta.

“I see that Palembang is well prepared enough to become the venue of the the Asian Games’ Sports,” Yayuk said, in a public discussion in DPR-RI, Jakarta, Wednesday, 16/3/2016.

Yayuk said that the infrastructure that is going to be used for Asian Games is 80% ready, especially for the athlete dorm that is considered good and decent.

Yayuk added that they have held some discussions with a number of parties but still has not received any clarity about the venue for the Asian Games.

Yayuk said “In Jakarta, everything is still not going too well. For now, we are indeed still waiting for the Jakarta, because the renovation of Gelora Bung Karno has been signed by the Kemenpupera.”

For that, Yayuk considered that Asian Games, which will be held approximately two years away, seemed poorly planned.

“The point is, we would like to urge the acceleration of the Asian Games, as for the government. We don’t want to be embarrassed as the host, just because the venue is not ready.”
