Ampera Bridge Closed. Dishub Will Prepare An Alternative Route During Total Solar Eclipse

SRIPOKU.COM, PALEMBANG -- Dishub (Dinas Perhubungan/Departement of Transportation of Palembang) is planning to close the Ampera Bridge, for the preparation of Total Solar Eclipse Festival, starting from 00.00 AM, March 9th, 2016.

The closing that start in the midnight will begin with the cleaning procedure around the area on Ampera Bridge, by Dinas Kebersihan Kota Palembang (City Sanitary Service) and Badan Penanggulangan Bencana dan Pemadam Kebakaran Palembang (BPBPK/Agency for Fire and Disaster Management).

Sulaiman Amin, chairman of Dishub Palembang, said that the complete closing of Ampera is around 03.00 AM.

Complete closing will start when the loading process of equipments and stuffs for the Eclipse Festival on the bridge is complete.

“It’s impossible for vehicles to pass through the bridge if the loading process is not completed, so we will close it completely,” Said Amin, Monday, March7th, 2016.

The complete closing process of Ampera Bridge will be finished at 10.00 AM, after the Festival of Total Solar Eclipse.

Amin also added that his staff will try to provide an alternative route for the emergency situation.

“There will be staffs that guards that alternative route. It will open for ambulance or fire truck if there is any fire accident,” said Amin.
